Coming-of-Age Youth
Join us for our popular and well loved annual Coming-of-Age Service titled “What Do I Believe, What Do You Believe, What Do They Believe?”. Our four Coming-of-Age youth, Alexis, Lucy, Mary, and Max, are beginning their adult journey of pausing on special occasions to contemplate and share their answers to the age old question, “what do I believe?”. Our life experiences and spiritual practices can deepen and transform our answers to these questions, and that is why hearing their answers during this worship service inspires all of us to consider our own answers and wonder what the answers might be of those around us. As Unitarian Universalists, we affirm our 4th principle of “a free and responsible search for truth and meaning” and appreciate our youth leading the way on this search. Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” and this service highlights just how much we are! Alexis, Lucy, Mary, and Max have made a special request that we all join them on zoom to watch the stream of the service together and so they feel as much connection as is possible while celebrating this milestone virtually.
