As described in the recent Congregational Storytelling post, the First Parish Strategic Task Force is beginning the process of inquiry into our calling and direction by understanding where we are currently. This calls for a series of listening sessions, where we can hear each others’ stories and insights to help discern the current engagement, enthusiasm, and effectiveness of and within the church.
In this series of open forums, the task force will focus on the three elements of our covenant – LOVING (encourage and support one another); DIVERSE (support each other in our search for spiritual truth); SERVICE (living our actions and beliefs through care for our world). In what ways have we embodied these themes and how can we more completely fulfill their promise?
In order to get the most accurate picture of who we are, we need input from a broad representation of the congregation, so we encourage community members of all ages to attend a session. The meetings will be held either on Zoom or in person. The schedule for the first sessions is shown below:
- Sunday 3/26 9:00 In person in the Parlor
- Thursday 3/30 7:00 on Zoom
- Sunday 4/2 5:00 on Zoom
- Wednesday 4/5 7:00 In person in the Parlor
There is no pre-registration: please just join us as you are willing and able for this important first step. After all, we can’t collectively navigate our course without identifying our starting location!
