Sabbatical 2025: A Smorgasbord of Things Experienced & Learned, Rev. Catie Scudera

On June 3rd, Rev. Catie will share all about what she learned and experienced during her four-month sabbatical, with plenty of pictures to share. She has designed the Lane Lyceum to be “Pecha-Kucha-esque,” with 60 slides presented at about 20 seconds each.  

The Reverend Catie Scudera has been honored to serve as lead minister of First Parish in Needham since August 2014. While at First Parish, Rev. Catie has acted as a board member of the UU Partner Church Council, president of the Needham Interfaith Clergy Association, and a leader in local anti-oppressive and welcoming initiatives, including Needham Has Pride and African enslavement & indigenous displacement/genocide research and repair. Before responding to her call to ordained ministry, Rev. Catie co-founded the A. Margaret Barr Children’s Village with the Unitarian Union of Northeast India. She converted as a preteen at the UU Congregation of Fairfax (VA) and is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon and Harvard Divinity School. She lives in Cochituate with her spouse, their daughter, and two rescue pups.
