Rev. Catie Scudera
Almost exactly ten years ago, a black teenager named Trayvon Martin was returning to his father’s fiancée’s home with a pack of Skittles when he was stalked, shot, and killed by a neighborhood watch member. After Martin’s murderer was acquitted in 2014, the #BlackLivesMatter movement was born. First Parish marks this difficult and tragic tenth anniversary of Trayvon Martin’s death in our February 27th service.
