This world is so messy. Spiritually, physically, relationally, politically. What place in the mess do we have, and how are we called to lead as UU? Join Ellie del Valle, our parish’s sponsored aspirant to ministry, to ponder these questions.
After being raised in First Parish, Ellie moved on to Nova Scotia where she earned a Bachelor of Community Development at Acadia University. With knowledge of healthy and sustainable community practices at hand, Ellie returned home to Boston where she became our sponsored Aspirant to UU Ministry. She enrolled in a dual-degree program at Boston University with the Schools of Theology and Social Work. In 2022, Ellie graduated with her Master of Social Work and converted to full time at Pine Street Inn’s Outreach Team. Ellie has since been promoted to the Veteran’s Outreach Clinician, and is finishing her Master of Divinity (M.Div) one class at a time. Ellie will graduate with her M.Div and will earn her independent clinical license next spring/summer. Ellie adores poutine, escape rooms, Star Wars, and — despite being passionate about climate change — adores her car. She is coming hot off the heels of a leadership position at our UUA General Assembly as well as working at a Queer camp.
