Lights, Camera, Auction!
We are excited to announce the Hollywood-themed First Parish auction on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Starting at 7:30pm, the event will include a wide variety of auction items. Snacks and non- alcoholic drinks will be served. Feel free to bring alcoholic drinks to share. This event is not only a fundraiser, but also a highly anticipated community celebration, so get your tickets and plan your outfit — Hollywood glamour encouraged!
Tickets! Tickets are $20 and will be on sale Sundays at Social Hour pay by cash or check, buy online, or send an email to comms@uuneedham.org to reserve your tickets and pay at the door. Please specify the names of the ticket holders.
Donate Items Over the coming weeks until October 26, we will be gathering the items that will be up for bid at the auction. We are not planning to solicit outside business donations, but we invite you to ask for donations from businesses you frequent and donate them to the auction. The value of donated items should be above $50. Only new items can be accepted. The Auction Committee reserves the right to decline items and to set prices before or during the auction. We are counting on you to provide the goods and services that make the auction a success. Past auctions have included a wide variety of items, from monthly deliveries of delicious foods to professional services and vacation homes. Talk to others about donating as a group. You can join with your Small Group Ministry, RE class parents, or other group to host a dinner, sponsor an event, or donate a themed basket. Click here to sign up for your donation!
Possibilities include:
PROVIDE AN EXPERIENCE: Tickets to a sporting event, theater, or other performance; a day of golf, hiking, sailing, fishing, or kayaking; local historical tours or museum trips
HOST AN EVENT: Specialty dinners and theme parties – murder mystery, clambake, barbeque, ice cream social, game night (poker, puzzles, or board games), brunch/wine or beer tasting.
SHARE YOUR SKILLS: Offer your time and expertise with lessons — golf, tennis, cooking, gardening, bridge, computer, languages, music
OFFER YOUR SERVICES: Cooking/baking, errands, sewing, holiday gift wrapping, computer support, babysitting, legal/tax, pet care, massage/acupuncture, handyman/repair services
CONTRIBUTE AN ITEM: Artwork, gift cards, crafts, wine, themed gift baskets, new household goods. Only new items can be accepted and must have a value of at least $50.
The deadline for submitting auction donations is October 26. Please fill out a donation form at social hour. You can drop off auction items at the home of Christine Harrington, 47 Deerfield Road, Needham or Mary Ann Oldfield, 260 Warren Street, Needham. Also, please consider volunteering to help with auction planning or on the night of the event. Remember, we need YOU to make the UU auction a success.
