Phil Lynes presenting
In their marriage ceremony 49 years ago Phil and Carolyn incorporated some excerpts from Kahlil Gibran’s “The Prophet”. Apparently there are others in our congregation who have done a similar thing. As their 50th anniversary approaches Phil wanted to revisit the mystical philosophy of this Lebanese American poet and artist and share some of that treasure with our congregation. It has been said that “Kahlil wrote for both the East and the West, presenting a nonsectarian vision of our world and offering his readers a spiritual tapestry that transcends humanity’s divisions. … he was a mystic who plumbed the depths of the rich spiritual traditions of the Middle East and shared them with the West.” We will be reading a number of his writings taken from various periods of his life. This will be a service where we will need many readers. If you would like to participate as a reader please contact Phil during the month of July at ptlynes@gmail.com.
