Ingathering & Water Communion: Swimming Together

At our multigenerational Ingathering Sunday, First Parishioners gather in the Sanctuary for the first time since June, and all are welcome to take part in our annual water communion ritual. We are thrilled to have our new Director of Religious Exploration, John Newhall, participate in a Sunday service for the first time, and to hear music from our First Parish Players and music staff. Rev. Catie will offer a meditation and message inspired by undrowned: black feminist lessons from marine mammals by queer black writer, activist, and educator Dr. Alexis Pauline Gumbs. Remember to bring water from your summer adventures; we will also have “representational water” available if you forgot to collect water this summer. If you won’t be onsite this Sunday, please email Rev. Catie (minister@uuneedham.org) by Friday (9/5) evening if you want her to share the names of the waters you encountered this summer.
