Join us in the building or online for our multigenerational service as we explore the “Why-s and the Wisdom” of Halloween. Have you ever wondered why we carve pumpkins or dress up as ghouls and ghosts; and what if anything do these have to do with beliefs or religion? This service will have interactive, embodied rituals for everyone to engage in whenever and wherever they participate in the service. No worries, though! These practices are neither physically arduous, nor do they require any special skills. Instead they invite in our bodies, minds, and spirit as we engage in the Wise Why-s of Halloween. Feeling particularly festive? Consider arriving in costume or an otherwise celebratory outfit for in-person attendees or a Halloween inspired zoom background if you join us online! You won’t want to miss social hour either, as our Friends of Social Hour are hosting a fall-favorite-treats potluck with additional fun and spooky surprises provided by the Religious Exploration Committee. So buy, bake, or assemble your favorite fall treat and drop it in the kitchen before the service for everyone to enjoy during social hour.
