In the days following the November 5th election, calls and texts to LGBTQ+ suicide prevention hotlines have increased by 700%. With a president elect who promises to enact laws outlawing gender affirming care and criminalizing the use of pronouns for Trans, non-binary people, we are confronting a crisis of compassion in our country. Professor and author Ruha Benjamin names the conditioning of our imagination into narrow and prescribed channels as a primary limiting factor in our struggle to create a just and equitable world. Join us on Sunday as we explore ideas of compassion, imagination, and our Unitarian Universalist values. We will be sharing our collection with Pink Haven, a coalition of organizations supporting 2 Spirit, Trans, and Gender Expansive folks.
