Come hear local jazz/fusion group Polarized Guru perform a benefit concert for First Parish in Needham, Unitarian Universalist and Generic Ministry, on Saturday, September 16th 7:30 – 9:30 pm. Polarized Guru presents a dynamic show with a mix of jazz, funk, Latin, and other styles. Inspired by artists like Chick Corea, Spyro Gyra, The Yellow Jackets, and Steps Ahead, Polarized Guru plays covers and originals.
Local Needham piano teacher and retired Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble Director at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, Bob Ponte, is one of five musicians in the group playing keyboards and is one of First Parish’s recital renters. Other players include Paul Rodriguez, guitar; Todd Rhodes, drums; Michael Merrill, bass; and John MacNeill, saxes and Aerophone. All are local musicians from Sudbury, Hudson and Acton. The group is donating their time and talent, for which we are grateful!
Benefit concert tickets $10 per person, $20 for the first two family members and other family members admitted free of charge. Tickets sold at the door only, cash and text payments accepted.
