A Reflection on 3 Years at First Parish, Rev. Darrah Bryans

All are welcome to hear from our ministers, Rev. Catie Scudera and then-Rev. Darrah Bryans, at our June Lane Lyceums. On June 10th, Rev. Darrah will share her “walk through the thistles” reflection on her time at First Parish, what she learned, and why it will be so hard to say goodbye.

Darrah Bryans has been the Ministerial Intern at First Parish in Needham since August 2022 Before arriving in Needham, Darrah worked for over ten years as the Membership Development and Communications Coordinator for the UU Area Church at First Parish in Sherborn (UUAC Sherborn). It was there that she first felt and acknowledged her call to ministry. Darrah attended BU School of Theology, where she helped lead and was the President of the UU Student Association for two years. Prior learning degrees include an MA in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute in Monterey California and certification as a Brew Master/Malt Master and Production Manager from Doemens, the oldest private brewing school in Germany. Darrah will be ordained by First Parish and UUAC Sherborn on May 31st and has been called to be the 29th Settled Minister at the First Parish Church in Duxbury beginning in August 2025. Darrah currently lives in Natick with her spouse, Darryl, her son, Campbell, and their dog Percy.
