2024 Christmas Eve Services: All Are Welcome!

All are welcome at First Parish on Tuesday December 24th for Christmas Eve services, onsite and online!

For the second year in a row, our morning service on Christmas Eve at 10:30 am is an informal, all-ages carol sing mixed with special Christmas readings, both sacred and secular. We’ll gather in the Parish Hall, with cocoa and coffee thanks to Friends of Social Hour and cookies from the community, and sing both traditional and modern Christmas carols and songs. Holiday crafts will be available, too. If you’re planning to participate online, please email Rev. Catie & Laura your carol requests by 5 pm on December 23; we’ll include what we can!

Then at 5:30 pm, celebrate Christmas Eve by candlelight in the Sanctuary! Our ministers Rev. Catie, Rev. Jenna, and Darrah will lead our multigenerational evening service with traditional liturgy and non-traditional UU theology. Our First Parish Choir, under our music directors Laura and Chris’s direction, will offer music. For those participating on YouTube and Zoom, you’re encouraged to bring your own candle, candle emoji, or candlelit background for the singing of Silent Night. A cookie social hour will follow the service. This is Rev. Catie’s last First Parish service before her sabbatical, from December 25 to April 25.
