Religious Education
Welcome to First Parish in Needham. Our caring and nurturing community is committed to guiding children and youth on a spiritual journey, exploring religious truth, meaning, and experience.
As Unitarian Universalists, we dedicate ourselves to providing our children with the tools they need to grow spiritually, mentally and physically. We encourage questioning and life-long journeys of wondrous discovery.
Our religious education program is designed to spark inquiry, build community, and help our children and youth to understand themselves in relationship with the broader world in which we live.
From understanding traditional Christian and Jewish stories of faith to connecting to many of the world’s religions, our curriculum takes an expansive look at spirituality and religion. We seek to make one’s spiritual life relevant to the everyday experience by also focusing on critical issues such as social justice, healthy sexuality, and contemporary culture, all in conjunction with our seven principles and deep-seated values.
I invite you to explore what we have to offer and to consider if our program meets the needs of you and your children.
I am happy to meet with you and your family to discuss our Religious Education program and the many ways in which it can help enhance your lives.
