Covenant Timeline

 

Listening Circles are open to everyone interested in discussing a covenant for First Parish.

  • Sunday, December 4 – Listening Circle, Noon-1:00 p.m. in the parlor
  • November-December – Covenant Task Force begins writing drafts of a covenant statement
  • January 9, 2012 – Task Force presents findings of process and first drafts to Parish Committee
  • March 12, 2012 – Task Force submits proposed final drafts to Parish Committee
  • March – April 2012 – Congregation reviews and comments on proposed final drafts in Listening Circles, on the covenant website and via other vehicles. Task Force crafts one proposed covenantal statement, based on comments from congregation.
  • April 9, 2012 – Task Force presents proposed final draft to Parish Committee
  • April 2012 – Offer proposed final covenantal statement to congregation in worship service
  • May 2012 – Formal presentation and vote on covenant at annual meeting
