Transformation: An Individual and Collective Art

As you may remember from the spring announcement, we begin a trial period of “theme-based ministry” this church year. The staff and lay leaders who are involved in implementing this year’s themes hope that these monthly points of focus will transform our congregation, deepening our individual and collective spiritual growth. Appropriately, we are beginning this year with the monthly theme of “Transformation”!

Our hearts are broken for Emanuel AME Church

Please note before reading Rev. Catie’s letter below:

We are deeply grieved at the tragic shooting and killing of 9 people at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, S.C. this past Wednesday. The minister and DLRE would like to invite all who wish to join them for a short gathering of mourning and solidarity on Sunday morning, June 21, at 10:00 am in the First Parish Parlor.

Our regular Flower Celebration Sunday, June 21, will continue as planned at 10:30 in the Sanctuary and will be child appropriate. Our plate offering on Sunday will be given away in memory of the shooting victims.
