Join us on Saturday, November 4th6-10pm at First Parish for an evening of food and fun as we celebrate and raise money for our church programs. We will have silent and live auctions featuring many exciting items — from delicious food deliveries, to dinner parties, fun nights out, stays in vacation homes and more!
We kick the silent auction off at 6 pm with sumptuous appetizers and an open bar, followed by delicious and decadent desserts and the live auction. Don’t miss the 50/50 bowl and raffle too! Tickets are $35 per person. Buy your tickets at the auction table at Social Hour or online at Brown Paper Tickets (a small fee applies). Please contact Rev. Catie if the ticket cost is a barrier to your attendance.
A great time was had by all, munching on delicious appetizers made from scratch by FP members, bidding on silent auction items, drinking delicious wines and and beers selected by our own Rick Vincent, picking up some great raffle items, competing for great live auction items, and dancing to some old time rock and roll! There are many more people who pitched in in various ways, and we thank them all! The auction raised in the vicinity of $25,000 this year [before expenses], so it looks like we will have made our goal of netting at least 20K. Thank you to all the bidders for your generosity!

Over the coming weeks, we will be gathering the items that will be up for bid at the auction. Although we solicit donations from local and regional businesses, most of the items are donated by our own parishioners, so we are counting on you to provide the goods and services that make the auction a success. Past auctions have included a wide variety of items, from monthly deliveries of delicious foods to professional services and vacation homes. As you consider what you can donate, please think about connections you may have through work or businesses you frequent. And, talk to others about donating as a group. You can join with your Small Group Ministry, RE class parents, or other group, to host a dinner, sponsor an event, or donate a themed basket.
PROVIDE AN EXPERIENCE: Tickets to a college or professional sporting event, theater, or other performance; a day of golf, hiking, sailing, fishing, or kayaking; local historical tours or museum trips
HOST AN EVENT: Specialty dinners and theme parties – murder mystery, clambake, barbeque, ice cream social, girls’ night out, poker night, brunch/afternoon tea
SHARE YOUR SKILLS: Offer your time and expertise with lessons — golf, tennis, skating, cooking, gardening, bridge, computer, languages, or music
OFFER YOUR SERVICES: Cooking/baking, errands, sewing, holiday gift wrapping, computer support, babysitting, legal/tax, pet care, massage/acupuncture, handyman/repair services
CONTRIBUTE AN ITEM: Jewelry, artwork, baked goods, autographed memorabilia, pottery, wine, themed gift baskets, new household goods. Note only new household items can be accepted, and ‘soft’ goods (i.e. bedding, pillows, and stuffed animals) cannot be auctioned.
To make a donation, please complete the Auction donation form and email it to Auction2015@uuneedham.org, return it to the church office or come visit us at the auction table at social hour. Please note that the firm deadline for donations is OCTOBER 18, 2015.
Also, please consider volunteering to help with auction planning or on the night of the event. It’s fun and a great way to meet people! Contact us for more details or just come talk to us at church.
